A few weeks ago we went to the Long Beach Flea, aka the Long Beach Antique Market, aka The Flea Market with Style (and that’s copyrighted!).  A source, who’s reliable in the greater LA flea market scene, strongly recommended it.  Not too big, not too small.  It’s the right size market to tackle in a half day.  I came home with a gorgeous calligraphy brush made of horse hair bristles and a dark rose-colored marble handle (admittedly a weird purchase).

My husband scored a pair of mid-century office chairs that look like they could be straight off the set of Mad Men.  We created a little seating area with them adjacent to the living room.  I just can’t bear to separate the two, so they sit companionably side by side.  I realized that’s a look that I’ve loved in other people’s homes as well.  Here are a few examples, plus I’d keep adding more to my pinterest board.
